Q1. So, tell us where you departed from and landed into for the show?
My trip started with flying from Amsterdam to Los Angeles. Next, we picked up our RV in LA and drove 12 hours to Black Rock City in the middle of the Nevada desert.
Q2. Is this a one-off show, or part of a bigger tour?
Burning Man is part of a bigger tour with multiple shows. I ended up staying 8 days at Burning Man in which I played seven sets at camps/art cars like: Robot Heart, Alborz, Playground and my own camp Rise. After a few days of decompressing, I will be flying out to Mexico where I will be playing one more show before flying back to Europe.
Q3. What venue are you playing tonight and who else is on the line up?
So next venue I’m playing is M N Roy in Mexico City, which is probably one of the most esthetically pleasing venues I played.
Q4. What is one item you can’t travel without?
I will always travel with one of my hats.
Q5. Tell us your typical gig schedule – do you get to see much of the places you visit?
In my travels I always prioritize to see more than just the venue where I’m playing. I love to travel and connect with the people that invited me. Moreover, exposure to different surroundings and cultures plays an important role in my creative workflow. It is this contrast that keeps me inspired.
Q6. One thing you hate about being on the road?
Food is super important to me and in my normal life I spend a good amount of time in sourcing the best local organic food. Eating home cooked food plays an essential role in helping me to be the best version of myself. While being on the road, especially in remote places, this can be very challenging.
Q7. Finally, tell is the worst / funniest thing that’s happened to you whilst on the road?
Forgetting my laptop at airport security at the beginning of a trip.
