For our next issue on the Touchdown interview series, we caught up with Rudosa whilst he was on his Australian tour. His 3 track EP, Cramming & Jamming is out now! – Listen Here
Q1. So, tell us where you departed from and landed into today?
Sydney to Melbourne as part of my Australian tour.
Q2. Is this a one-off show, or part of a bigger tour? (If a tour, tell us where you have been so far)
Part of my debut Australia tour which consisted of two shows and some much needed downtime before heading to Madrid for Blackworks Festival pre-party.
Q3. What venue are you playing tonight and who else is on the line up?
Subclub Melbourne, and I am the headliner 😊
Q4. What is one item you can’t travel without?
I have a memory foam neck pillow and it saves the day especially when travelling long distances.
Q5. Tell us your typical gig schedule – do you get to see much of the places you visit?
So for most places in Europe its in and out, however with this Australian tour I made sure to plan an extra 3 days where I could go on some adventures and see the cities. It’s a long way to come, and I don’t come that often, so it makes sense to make the most of the time if my gig schedule allows.
Q6. One thing you hate about being on the road?
Airport security and how each one round the world is different. Liquids in or out, electrics in or out. Manchester is by far the worst airport in the world but just wish they had global rule of leave things in your bag!
Q7. Tell is the worst / funniest thing that’s happened to you whilst on the road?
I’ve been lost a good few times especially when in a new city. Of course, the obvious missed flights due to delays and missed connections or oversleeping at the hotel after a late night. Not a huge amount of funny travelling stories though, which is surprising! I haven’t had any scary plane landings either, but I take that as something I am lucky with.
Q8. Finally, what new music do you have coming up in your schedule that you can tell us about?
SOOO much music. I have two styles going on atm. Hard groove and hard techno. I’m just coming off the back off two hard groove style releases on Bipolar Records and We Are the Brave. Both where well received and it’s nice to offer a different style as well as my usual harder sound.
I have an EP on Sara Landry’s Hekate label dropping very soon which I’m excited about as have been hammering all 3 in my sets for 6 months. I also have a remix coming on my label Moments in Time very soon which is a hard acid style track very full power.
And a super exclusive one for you I have signed to a label ive been trying to get on for years which will be dropping in May. Not going to say which label just yet but its name is part of the breathing process so im sure people can guess that 🙂
