As part of the ‘Behind The Scenes‘ series, we’ve decided to catch up with the brains behind all these amazing events we all attend.
James Casbolt had a chat with us to tell us all how the Audio Circuit brand first started, spoke about them travelling over to Ibiza, what there next event is plus more!
What’s your next event?
Our next event is at The 02 Academy Islington for our 1st Birthday which we are all really looking forward to. Eden Ibiza will be teaming up with us on this as well so expect a proper opening party for the season ahead. We will be installing one of the best sound systems around at the moment and going absolutely crazy with the lighting and production. We want to create a real indoor festival vibe with the staging so expect big things.
When you’re building line ups for your events, how do pick a headliner for the event?
We are very strict when it comes to booking our headliners in the sense of the music that they play. We wont book an artist if we haven’t physically seen them play and enjoyed the set. Its so crucial now a days when it comes to your line up because London is swamped with the big guys putting on massive line ups. We just want good music and great vibes and we honestly believe that the atmosphere at our events is second to none.
What do you have planned for the next 6 months?
Well the next 6 months are going to be pretty hectic for all of us but at the same time we are all exited to be going in the direction that we want to go in. After our 1st birthday on 24th March we are all jetting off to Ibiza as we have locked a 14 show residency with Eden Ibiza which launches on 12th June. Some of the artists that will be appearing at our Eden events we never thought we would see on our billing.
They are really getting behind us which has made things a little easier for us. We honestly feel so lucky to be given the opportunity to do this as we are still such a young event, but at the same time since launching last January we have sold out all of our shows so the support we have been getting is amazing.
We cannot thank the people that show up to our parties and support us enough because if it wasn’t for them we wouldn’t be where we are today and having this dream become reality is amazing.
Where is your event based and what venue do you mostly use?
To be honest we have always been an industrial event so we love to take on a warehouse or an old beat up venue that just gives the event that real underground feeling. We have never stuck with just one venue as we like to change up what we do. Our most favourite venue that we used was Warehouse LDN in Edmonton. That club was amazing what with the sound system and lighting it always created such a great atmosphere. Its such a shame that it got closed down because we would love to take it on again.
Why did you start running events and how did it start?
Well we was always going out all the best events in London and by doing that our knowledge of the scene grew so we just sat there one day and had a discussion about doing our own event one day and it just went from there. Where we were always about in the circuit we got to know quite a few promoters and Djs which was always a big help.
If you could run your event in any country, what country would you choose and why?
Well we have always wanted to do Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE). The city is always alive in October full of house & techno fans.
