There aren’t many DJs out there who are as connected to the rave scene as Enzo Siragusa, and who can attract such a loyal fan base following his incredible sets at these intimate, positive events.
On Sunday, we were blessed with something very special: Enzo Siragusa for nine hours behind the decks. All day long sets can either make or break a DJ.
They truly test their selection ability, crowd reading ability, how they connect with the crowd and most importantly the ability to hypnotise and take the crowd on a magical journey into their record collection.
We instantly made our way to the dance floor which was already half full at 5pm! Village Underground is rather edgy as a venue, located in an old warehouse with an abandoned tube on its roof, and covered in street art and graffiti on the exterior. The interior is lit up only by the occasional yellow, blue and orange lasers from behind the DJ decks, which is also within a metre of the crowd, just to add more intimacy.
Enzo got going with very groovy tracks in the lower BPM ranges, but with distinctively hard-hitting kicks. The sound system sounded amazing, you could hear every detail in the clap, kick, and hi-hats in between deep groovy basslines.
Enzo found the perfect match of balancing his set with hard hitting bangers such as his own ‘As We Are (Enzo’s Back To 93 Mix)’ and ‘Kilimanjaro 2’ by himself and Alexkid all the way to tracks with highly infectious grooves such as Liefko and his own track ‘In My Head’.
Even the bar staff were dancing throughout their shift! As the night crept up on us we realised that Enzo has well and truly exceeded all the expectations on him for this exclusive event, with not one person looking miserable or standing still. Exceptional!
What a way to spend our Sunday, and we sure will be back at the next event!
