For our recent interview on our Touchdown series, we caught up with Kirsty! We spoke about recent sets, upcoming sets, favourite food plus so much more!
Do you have any other exciting bookings for the rest of the year?
Some exciting bookings I have coming up soon! My All Night Long tour starts at the end of this month in Dublin 28th of August. Then it finishes off in 2027 in Cardiff. It’s a major milestone for me to be able to take the crowd on a journey of genres that led to where my signature sound is today.
What stage are you playing and who else is on the line up?
I am playing on the mainstage in this insane club MÄX alongside Restricted, Byron, Tekibo, Megix, and Rayo B2B Sunny.
What is one item you can’t travel without?
One item I cannot travel without is my electrolytes. They give me the energy I need to get from the hotel to the airport the few hours after I finish playing. Specifically, these ones cheap and cheerful I go through one of these a month – two if I am attending a festival.
Tell us your typical gig schedule – do you get to see much of the places you visit? (Where are you playing in the next coming months?)
Typically, I never get to see the places I am visiting to play which is really sad. That’s why it’s important to me to go to venues if I can as early as possible so if I can’t see the place at least, I can meet the people. I usually don’t sleep much the night before I travel to pack and prep so naps are essential when I get to the hotel if I have time. Arrive, nap, shower, eat, get ready, go through my set and leave, play, sleep (if I can) and airport again.
I am playing in Malta and Paris in the next two months so I am making it my business to explore when I am there this time.
Today I didn’t have time to go to the Zurich Street Parade, so I chilled at a park for a while trains spotting while it was on. I forgot what silence sounded like!
One thing you hate about being on the road?
One thing I hate about being on the road is missing special occasions and not having as much time to see family and friends. When I was playing in Belgium afew weeks ago I missed my Grandad’s 80th which really got to me. Here’s me on Facetime with him until I got a chance to go home and celebrate it with him.
Tell us the worst / funniest thing that’s happened to you whilst on the road?
The worst thing that has happened to me on the road was not being able to make it to my ANL in Lyon because of a storm I was stuck in the middle of nowhere at Hive festival all transport stopped for hours and I missed not 1 but 2 flights while trying to get to the airport. I got really badly sunburned in the process of walking around the festival for 9 hours with all my luggage trying to see if even a sober attendee could give me a lift to the airport. It was a nightmare I have never had to cancel a show before but unfortunately this was mother natures call.
Favourite food cuisine you have eaten whilst on the road?
Favourite food I have ate of the road was this breakfast in Malta (we had just got in from playing) I have never seen so much food in my life omg there was an entire room half of a room for cheese? Crazy. I was playing 3 times that weekend so food was not really a priority until we saw this set up.
Have you had any recent sets you would really like to talk about?
I just released my Boiler set on YouTube from Teletech Festival which was an absolute dream come true. I spent many years in the crowd at that stage so to be on the other side a couple years later is wild. Lost hella sleep over it but to be able to watch it back in real time is crazy and so fulfilling.
