Paradise, DC10, 20th July 2017. The date Jamie Jones bought to us the all star lineup featuring Richy Ahmed, Hot Since 82, Nathan Barato, Cuartero, Luca Cazal, Guti (Live), Ilario Alicante and yes, Joseph Capriati.
The night started with Luca Cazal opening up the Terrace and Nathan Barato opening the Main room. We arrived just shortly after midnight, minimal queues and faster entry which of course means not yet anywhere near capacity. More importantly, more time to enjoy the music. Barato was playing 11-12.30. We wanted to check out what he had in store and he brought 1 hour and 30 minutes of minimal techy hits to ease us into the rest of the event.
Richy Ahmed taking over the Terrace at 12:30 bought us an impressive selection of Tech House hits drawing gasps of awe from the punters and they simultaneously stomped in time to the beat. Time flew by, and before we knew it, you could hear members of the crowd cheering on the British DJ throughout his set.
Ilario Alicante took over the Main Room at 3:00. Alicante arguably is Sven Väth’s most favoured DJs, you will normally always find him on one of Sven‘s lineups. With his tech-house trance vibes, the crowd was were astonished with his melodic selection.
Jamie Jones and Joseph Capriati both played at the same time so we were spoilt for choice. We were finding it hard to pull ourselves away from Joseph Capriati, we would look at each other, suggest making a move to the Terrace to see Jamie, then Capriati would drop one of his mind blowing hits. The crowds response to every drop was euphoric, you cannot pull yourself away from the mixture of good vibes and fearsome drops.
This night especially offered the kind of diversity to the night that it’s become famed for, tech house mixing with offerings of flavoured techno. Paradise always pulls in a vibrant crowd which creates a joyous atmosphere. We feel Paradise is one of the parties you plan your trip to Ibiza around, you can head down to DC10 every Wednesday this season until 27th September.
