With just over a month to go until We Are FSTVL returns to Damyns Hall Aerodrome for its tenth anniversary celebration, organisers have dropped another massive name that has been added to the already-monumental lineup – London legend Skepta.
The MC and producer has been a veteran on the UK grime scene for the last two decades and was a driving force of the genre’s revival during the 2010s. His self-released album Konnichiwa even bagged him the Mercury Prize in 2016, beating the likes of David Bowie and Radiohead.
Now, the Shutdown icon is taking the electronic music scene by storm after he officially launched his house imprint Más Tiempo earlier this year with Boy Better Know co-member Jammer. Skepta revealed the inspiration behind the new label came after playing Circoloco at Ibiza’s DC10 in 2022 – the first DJ set he’d performed in years*. He describes Más Tiempo as “a movement, from Africa to London, to Ibiza” and has just made the label’s debut at this year’s Glastonbury, playing the Arcadia stage.
The award-winning rapper and producer will be headlining the Solid Grooves stage at We Are FSTVL on Saturday 26th August. Seth Troxler, PAWSA, Dennis Cruz, Silvie Loto and Traumer will be joining him, as well as Jackmaster and Shonky who have just been added to the lineup and will be bringing non-stop vibes to the Airfield of Dreams with their mammoth sets.
Also known as ‘Terminal 2.0’, the Solid Grooves stage is the FSTVL’s largest and most immersive stage concept yet and is said to be the most exciting festival production in the UK this year.
