Touchdown – Ale De Tuglie (Music On Festival 23)

For our second interview from Music On Festival, we caught up with Ale De Tuglie prior to his performance.

Q1. So, tell us where you departed from and landed into today?

Hi Guys, first off, thanks for having me here. It is a pleasure!

I have just arrived in Amsterdam straight from Bucharest. I was in Mamaia, Constanta playing at SUNWAVES FESTIVAL.

Q2. Do you have any other Music On bookings for the rest of the year? (What dates and where?)

For now, I have confirmed September 15th at Pacha in Ibiza, but I will definitely keep you updated as soon as I have dates of upcoming Music On events where I will be attending.

Q3. What venue are you playing tonight and who else is on the line up?

Today I’m performing at Music On Festival, tomorrow night I’m performing at night at the official after party at HEMKADE48; I’m so excited!

Q4. What is one item you can’t travel without?

Good question. Definitely my prescription glasses, lol. When I use my phone and PC, they are essential for me. Also, my travel pillow. I can’t sleep on a plane without it anymore. These two items are definitely essential.

Q5. Tell us your typical gig schedule – do you get to see much of the places you visit? (Where are you playing in the next coming months?)

I usually always arrive the same day I’m performing except when there are no flights. Then I arrive the day before. But when I can, I always try to stay in the places where I play even for one more day, especially if it’s my first time there. I really like to visit. That’s one of my favourite aspects of my job, making friends and visiting new places.

In the coming months I will be playing in cities Valencia, Milan, London, Riccione, Pisa and Ibiza.

Definitely in Valencia, if I can, I will stay a few days. I have never been there and I am curious.

Q6. One thing you hate about being on the road?

Stopovers are the only thing I don’t like, especially when to reach a nearby destination you have to take 2 planes, and between one and the other have a 2/3 hour stopover.

Also taking planes directly after the holidays without sleeping, but that is part of the game 🙂

Q7. Tell us the worst / funniest thing that’s happened to you whilst on the road?

The worst was when I once missed the plane to go to London. I got there and the gate had just closed. But luckily, I got another one 3 hours later.

As for the funniest thing, it is hard for me to list just one because from each date I take something funny home with me. One event I remember well is when in Bali, Indonesia, my friend and I got on our scooter in a thunderstorm and everyone there was used to it and equipped but we were not.

Q8. Finally, what new music do you have coming up in your schedule that you can tell us about?

I have an EP on Whippin planned for release in June, and an EP in the following months (I don’t know when yet) on Futura, with a remix that is a real blast.
