Last week we caught up with Chicago based DJ and producer Azzecca ahead of her busy DJ schedule. She headed from Space Park in Miami to London to play at Printworks and fabric.

Q1. So, tell us where you departed from and landed into today?
I was just in Miami where I played at Space Park for The Higher Ground Art Basel showcase, and I just landed in London where I’m playing Printworks and fabric for the REALM showcases.
Q2. Is this a one-off show, or part of a bigger tour?
I have two shows here in London this weekend, one at Printworks and one at fabric. Then I head home to Chicago for the holidays before a run of NYE / NYD shows.
Q3. What venue are you playing tonight and who else is on the line up?
I play at Printworks which is such a dream! I’m supporting Adam Ten (who is my current absolute favourite producer), Dom Dolla and Gorgon City. I have a really close relationship with everyone on the line up so it feels like a bit of a family reunion.
Q4. What is one item you can’t travel without?
My kindle. I absolutely love to read and if I forget my kindle, I don’t really know what to do with myself.
Q5. Tell us your typical gig schedule – do you get to see much of the places you visit?
I really do try to spend at least a couple of days exploring the cities I play; I hate the in-and-out tour life but of course that’s just how it goes sometimes.
Q6. One thing you hate about being on the road?
Being away from my pets. I have two cats and a dog and I miss them the second I leave my house.
Q7. Tell us the worst / funniest thing that’s happened to you whilst on the road?
Honestly, missing flights is always the worst… and it happens far too often!
Q8. Finally, what new music do you have coming up in your schedule that you can tell us about?
I have a really exciting remix coming out for a duo from the UK who are really making some incredible music at the moment. It will be out in January and I feel really proud of this remix.
