Touchdown – Olympe

We recently caught up with Olympe as she landed in London from Amsterdam to play at Koko.

Olympe also has a new release out, The Voice Of The Night coming on August 9th on Just This.

Q1. So, tell us where you have departed from and landed into today?

Hi! Thank you so much for having me here. Today, I am in the wonderful city of London, having arrived from Amsterdam.

Q2. Do you have any other exciting bookings for the rest of the year? (What dates and where?)

There are so many! I’ll be performing at the Balano Festival on July 5th, the Kappa Futur Festival on July 7th, Audioriver on July 12th, and then Afterlife at Hï Ibiza on July 18th. I’ll be playing twice at Tomorrowland and many other events. I can’t wait!

Q3. What venue are you playing tonight and who else is on the line up?

Today, I’m performing at one of my all-time favorite venues, Koko London, alongside Agents of Time. I’m incredibly excited, not only because playing in such a historic and beautiful place fills me with energy, but also because I’ve developed a strong connection with the London audience. I’m sure tonight will be unforgettable.

Q4. What is one item you can’t travel without?

Definitely a good book. It helps me relax my mind and lets my imagination wander.

Q5. Tell us your typical gig schedule – do you get to see much of the places you visit?

Always. For me, it’s essential to learn about the culture and the history of art and food in every place I visit. That’s one of the joys of being a DJ. I always do some research before I travel, and each place never ceases to amaze me. I also draw a lot of inspiration for my tracks from the energy of every location I visit.

Q6. One thing you hate about being on the road?

The lack of sleep.

Q7. Tell us the worst / funniest thing that’s happened to you whilst on the road?

In Tulum, we were in an incredible place in the middle of the jungle, and I found an iguana in my room. I almost had a heart attack, haha. The funniest thing is hard to say, I’ve had so many great moments, but I laughed a lot at the last Extrema when my tour manager flew off the golf cart as we started driving to the stage.

Q8. How often do you produce music when on the road, if so, what does your production setup consist of?

I always try to dedicate some time each day to production; consistency is key. When I’m on tour, all I need is my computer with Ableton and an Akai MPK Mini keyboard to make music.

Q9. Finally, what new music do you have coming up in your schedule that you can tell us about?

I am beyond thrilled about my upcoming EP The Voice Of The Night that will be released on August 9th on Just This, especially with the electrifying remix from Woo York that injects a whole new dimension into the tracks. This project marks a significant evolution in my sound, seamlessly blending deep, emotive textures with pulsating rhythms. The track is inspired by the allure and power of a siren, designed to captivate listeners with a narrative celebrating her divine feminine energy. And the remix is an absolute dance floor anthem!
