Touchdown – RSquared (Now Here, Hi Ibiza)

A couple of weeks back we caught up with RSquared before their performance for Paco Osuna’s party Now Here at Hi Ibiza!

Q1. So, tell us where you have departed from and landed into today?

So we departed from London City airport and landed in Ibiza

Q2. Do you have any other exciting bookings for the rest of the year? (What dates and where?)

We have a thrilling booking lined up in Marbella for July, where we will be providing support to the king Jamie Jones.

Q3. What venue are you playing tonight and who else is on the line up?

Tonight, we have the privilege of playing at the renowned Hï Ibiza, sharing the stage with a stellar lineup that includes Paco Osuna, The Martinez Bros, Chris Stussy, Iglesias, Rossi, and ourselves.

Q4. How did the link up happen between yourselves and Paco Osuna?

We have been sending Paco tracks for a few years and he was downloading and playing them out, then our very good friend Iglesias made the introduction which we couldn’t be more grateful for! This eventually led to an EP on Mindshake which is out now!

Q5. What is one item you can’t travel without?

One item we absolutely can’t travel without is a trusty set of USB’s, as they hold our carefully selected music along with loads of our unreleased. Also, some noise cancellation headphones so Rory doesn’t have to listen to Ryan winding him up about flying haha!

Q6. Tell us your typical gig schedule – do you get to see much of the places you visit? (Where are you playing in the next coming months?)

Our typical gig schedule often involves arriving at the destination on the day of the performance. Upon arrival, we usually meet up with the promoters and enjoy a meal together, building relationships and setting the tone for the upcoming event.

To fully immerse ourselves in the atmosphere and connect with the audience, we prefer to arrive at the venue a few hours before our set. This allows us to soak in the vibe, observe the crowd, and get a sense of the energy in the space. It’s important for us to understand the mood of the event and tailor our performance accordingly.

After our set, we embrace the opportunity to join the party ourselves. We believe that experiencing the music from the dancefloor is an integral part of understanding and appreciating the music scene which we love so much.

In terms of our upcoming gigs, we have an exciting lineup of performances in the coming months.  Spain is basically our 2nd home so expect to see us back there over the summer, along with gigs scattered all over the UK, so it’s something we are buzzing about.

Q7. One thing you love about being on the road?

Is the constant banter and winding Rory up (Ryan

Meeting new people and exploring new places (Rory

Q8. Tell us the worst / funniest thing that’s happened to you whilst on the road?

We brought our friend to Madrid and both went to sleep and woke up in the middle of the night to him meditating at the end of the bed.

Q9. Finally, what new music do you have coming up in your schedule that you can tell us about?

07.07 – Mindshake

08.08 – Bandidos with Iglesias

09.09 – TBA

13.10 – Knee Deep in Sound
