Touchdown – Analect

We recently caught up with Analect before he made his debut performance in Paris at Les Caves Saint Sabin. He has also recently released his 3 track EP ‘Don’t’ Stop’ out now on Moments In TimePURCHASE

Q1. So, tell us where you departed from and landed into today?

Departed from the lovely Manchester airport and landed into Paris.

Q2. Is this a one-off show, or part of a bigger tour?

It’s a one-off show, and one I’ve been looking forward to for a while, as it’s my long-awaited French debut!

Q3. What venue are you playing tonight and who else is on the line up?

The venue is called Les Caves Saint Sabin. An intimate space full of character, with the cavernous vibes being the perfect setting for techno music. This is a headline gig, and I will be playing alongside some talented Parisian DJs: Gauthier, S’IL TE PLAÎT BRUNO and Nectare.

Q4. What is one item you can’t travel without?

I travel light. As long as I have my headphones, USB and a change of clothes I’m good to go!

Q5. Tell us your typical gig schedule – do you get to see much of the places you visit?

I’ve only just started playing internationally this year, so it’s all still a bit of a novelty. Sometimes it’s just a quick overnight stay but for this gig I’m bringing my girlfriend along and we’re making a long weekend of it. I love to travel, and Paris has been high on my list for a while so I couldn’t resist making this an extended visit.

Q6. One thing you hate about being on the road?

I do not do well without sleep, which is somewhat contradictory to the DJ lifestyle. And as a light sleeper, I absolutely cannot sleep on planes either, so it’s just a recipe for disaster! During these times I basically exist off caffeine.

Q7. Finally, tell is the worst / funniest thing that’s happened to you whilst on the road?

I was in Brazil earlier this year, which was an amazing time overall, so I really can’t complain. However, we had an Air BnB booked as accommodation ahead of a gig in Curitiba and it was…shall we say, not as advertised. It was reminiscent of a murder house, with one room looking like a South American prison cell. Oh and cockroaches, lots of cockroaches.
