Introducing – Club Culture, Algarve

Hi guys nice to catch up with you, how are you doing today?

Hi there! Very well thank you, beautiful day outside, here in Algarve. Hope you guys are doing well too.

Let’s start by asking, how did the birth of your party originally happen and how long has the party been running?

The idea came up around August last year, very naturally, as we felt the need for a platform such as Club Culture, specially in the region of Algarve, but also in the country. Club Culture comes from a strong will but also the personal visions and perspectives from its founders.

The goal of the project is to contribute to demystify and dynamize the clubbing culture. In order to that we propose carefully curated events, and other activities around it, such as cinema nights with Electronic Music Documentaries, Workshops, Talks and a Positive Approach to social issues. So in November 30th of 2021 this journey has officially began.

Where are you based in the world?

In the beautiful region of Algarve, in Portugal

Do you have any upcoming parties we can talk about that are planned in the pipeline? (What venue’s are you using next?)

At the moment we are running a series of boat parties in Algarve, at the sunkissed Ria Formosa, that will run throughout the entire Summer, pretty much every weekend until the 10th of September. We will also host a rooftop pool party event at Eva Senses Hotel in Faro, on the 21st of August with a very special guest, Santiago Garcia.

In the meantime there’s a new hotspot in town called Art Haus Club, where we are also planning some events to be announced soon. Parallel to this, we are planning the Winter season that might see Club Culture going to other cities.

What headline DJs have you booked to perform?

So far announced we have the likes of Jepe, Joone, Golden Hour, Santiago Garcia and others many others TBA. In the past we have booked the likes of Alex Medina, Miguel Payda, Secret Factory and other local heroes such as Rui Trintaeum, Hnrq or Kokeshi.

Do you have any residents, if so who are they?

We have a resident collective called RITMO FUTURO, composed of Joone, Rick Offen (one of our founders) and Victor C. These artists are also part of the team behind Club Culture. We might have some news regarding this in the near future.

How would you describe the sound of your parties to someone who hasn’t attended before?

The niche of music where we focus our attention, it’s a very broad one with many influences from Indie Dance, to House or Techno music, so maybe it’s not even a genre. We believe music and genres are very fluid these days (probably one of the reasons we like it so much). But we can say groove, melody and most importantly rhythm are a constant and the driving elements at our events.

If you could host a party in any venue in the world, where would it be and why?

That’s an easy one, picture this: Sunset, your feet on the sand, the breeze of the ocean and a powerful sound system playing some of your favourite music. There is this special island beach tho.. its called Island of Farol (in Faro, Algarve)

Do you have any plans on setting up a record label?

As we mentioned before, Ritmo Futuro is our resident collective and very soon this collective will also become a record label. We work together, so in one way you could say yes but Club Culture will be mainly focused on its mission.

When booking headline artists, what do you look for in them?

We look for artists that have a connection with the brand, and obviously great music, and great performances for our amazing fans.
